Here you will find the Available rescue dogs that we are fostering through the rescue, Pets in Need in Southern Maryland.

Tuko is looking for his forever home! If you're looking for a running or hiking buddy that has LOADS OF PERSONALITY this is your guy!
Tuko is only a year and a half old but spent a good portion of his life in a shelter unfortunately since he was brought there as a young pup. Because of that, he missed out on lots of puppy experiences he should have had. Thankfully Tuko was pulled from the shelter and came here for training to give him a better re-start in life. He is doing good in his basic training and is looking for his perfect fit now that will continue with his training and keep that structure and leadership that he learned here.
This is what we know about Tuko:
* A year and a half old shepherd mix (pending DNA breed test)
* Fully vetted, neutered and UTD on vaccines
* High energy, goofy and LOVES to have fun and play ball
* Has basic obedience training
* Does have prey drive to chase something that runs so living with cats indoors with him would not be a good idea.
* He would prefer to be an only dog as he didn't learn how to interact with dogs very well while growing up in a shelter. He is neutral with them passing by in public though!
* Kids can be a bit over stimulating for him so no young kids would be best.
* A fenced in yard for him to be able to run and play to get his energy out would be ideal for Tuko!
* Tuko will come with a couple private lessons to show you what he knows from training and how to continue building on it.
